🚴‍♂️ Bike Rental Terms & Conditions

Clause 1 – Purpose

This is a rental agreement for bicycles and basic equipment with SAS Velocap, hereafter referred to as “the rental provider.”

Clause 2 – Effective Date, Delivery & Return

The rental period begins when the renter takes possession of the bicycles and accessories. The renter is responsible for their safekeeping throughout the duration of the rental.

The renter agrees to use the equipment responsibly and carefully.

The renter acknowledges having received the equipment in good working condition with basic accessories (lighting available upon request).

The renter confirms they had the opportunity to inspect the equipment personally and select the most suitable option for their needs.

Clause 3 – Payment Terms

The renter must pay in full at the time of departure. Accepted payment methods: cash, ANCV holiday vouchers, or credit card.

Clause 4 – Use of Equipment

The renter confirms they are capable of using the rented equipment and agrees to use it personally.

In the event of a breakdown, the renter is strictly forbidden from repairing the equipment themselves. Any faulty equipment must be returned to the rental provider for repair or replacement with an equivalent item.

The renter must use the equipment with caution, ensuring no harm to others and complying with regulations.

Clause 5 – Liability in Case of Damage or Theft

The renter is responsible for any damage, theft, or loss of the rented equipment. Theft and loss are not insured, and the renter will be charged based on the new value of the equipment.

Deposit

When collecting the equipment, the renter must provide a security deposit (credit card imprint or cash):

• €200 for MTB, hybrid bikes, or city bikes

• €600 for electric city bikes

• €1000 for electric mountain bikes

• €150 for trailers, follower bikes, or children's bikes

Upon return, a release request will be sent to the renter’s bank after deducting any damages stated in Clause 5.

Processing time may vary depending on the renter's bank policies.

Clause 6 – Theft Insurance

If theft insurance is purchased, the renter is covered against theft by assault, forced entry, or when the bike is securely attached to a fixed object.

An excess fee applies in case of theft:

• 10% of the bike's value

• Minimum €80 for electric bikes

• Minimum €25 for standard bikes

The insurance can be applied to specific rented bikes, but it does not eliminate the need for a security deposit.

Clause 7 – Cancellation Policy

The renter may cancel their reservation by emailing velocap34@gmail.com. Refunds are issued according to the following policy:

✔️ Full refund if canceled at least 10 days before the rental start date.

✔️ 50% refund if canceled up to 48 hours before the rental start date.

🚫 No refund if canceled less than 48 hours before the rental start date—Velocap retains the full deposit.

Applicable Law

​

This contract is governed by French law, and any disputes will be handled by the court of Béziers (34).
